The athletes had the unique opportunity to race on the same course, with all exitement of the blue carpet, pontoon start, closed course, and VIP grandstands, that were used for the $700,000 Hy-Vee World Cup Triathlon. For team members, Jarrod Shoemaker and Sarah Groff, were in the elite field. Jarrod finished 8th overall, top American male. Unfortunately, Sarah was taken out by a crash.
